How to Compress Pictures using Microsoft Office Word

Filling online forms has been made so easy that you can fill so many forms within minutes without problems.. But problem comes in when pictures are to be uploaded.

    Most websites do specify the Maximum file size for picture upload. In a case where the file size of your picture is more than the specified limit of the website and you have no other option than to look for another picture with lesser file size Or find a way to reduce the file size of your picture.

    So in this post we will explain how you can reduce the file size of the picture with a software you already have installed on your PC/ Laptop which is a Microsoft office package called Microsoft Office Word.

Here is the step by step procedure on how you can compress pictures. 

… First Locate the Picture in your File Explorer and Copy it.
… Now open Microsoft Office Word
… Create a new document
… Then Paste the picture inside the document
… Now Click on the picture, you should notice that a new Tab(FORMAT) has been added to the Menu Bar at Top
…Click on the FORMAT Tab
…Look for the “Compress Pictures” in the Adjust settings area and click. A dialog box will now appear with the option to compress your Picture.
… In the Dialog box are two categories of settings, under the Compression option select
-Apply only to this picture
     And also select
-Delete cropped areas of pictures
   Under the second category which is Target output, select E-mail.

… Then click on OK.

Your compression is now done. All that is left is to save the compressed picture. To do this, Right-click on the picture and select Save picture as, give it the name you want and save. That’s all.

    Note: The new picture in the same file format as the original but if you want a very small file size, select jpg as the file format when saving.
